Contest Support is available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday — 9 am to 4:30 pm (Eastern).
Contest is open to entrants over the age of 21 who are legal residents of one of the lower 48 states and the District of Columbia (excludes U.S. Territories, Alaska and Hawaii), except employees and families of Don Cannon, any Judge, Sponsor, its affiliates, advertising agencies, production companies, third party fulfillment agencies, promotion and Contest administrators. Participation is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Each entrant must first register through the Craft Syndicate site, www.craft-syndicate.com, during the Contest Entry Period. Once registered, an entrant may submit one or more music tracks and must upload, tagging each with @craft_syndicate and using the hashtag #CraftSyndicate in the post copy to a participating social media site (i.e., Twitter, Soundcloud or Instagram), during the Contest Entry Period (each a "Contest Entry" and collectively referred to as "Contest Entries"). (Entrant must be registered on Twitter and Soundcloud prior to completing registration on the Craft Syndicate site.) Only Contest Entries uploaded during the Contest Entry Period and submitted in accordance with these Official Rules will be considered a qualifying entry. All Contest Entries received at the designated computer will be deemed to have been made in the United States and subject to the applicable law stated below. In the event of dispute about the time of entry, Sponsor's computer will be the official timekeeper.
Highest priority will be given to entrants with such experience who are still near the beginning of their music careers, i.e., those who are not commercialized with an established business, do not have agreements with a publishing company or have not received funding. Tentative winners may be asked to submit proof of this qualification to be selected as the confirmed Mentee.
Contest entrants must not be presently signed to any record label or publisher under any exclusive agreement or have a contractual arrangement which prohibits them from participation in the Contest or from giving a third party rights in any Contest Entry. If Contest entrant has an expired contract with the aforementioned, he/she needs to provide contractual proof of the expiration thereof.
Each Contest Entry must be the entrant's original composition. Compositions containing samples of previously composed music must be accompanied by proof of entrant's right to use said music, either by producing a copy of a written license agreement or evidence the composition is in the public domain. Without such proof, a Contest Entry may be disqualified.
By submitting a Contest Entry, entrant gives Sponsor a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display such Contest Entry in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, and to incorporate it into other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including for promotional or marketing purposes. If requested, entrant will sign any documentation that may be required to allow Sponsor to make use of the non-exclusive rights entrant is granting to use the Contest Entry.
